Right or Wrong? That’s the Question.

In the recent two weeks, a very controversial issue- a law made by SHIA  leaders- is being discussed everywhere. This law was being worked on by Shia Mullahs. Afterwards, the Afghan Parliament worked on and agreed with it. President Karzai has also signed his agreement for this law. Even though this law didn’t seem to be this controversial, it has not only caused many people to demonstrate against and for it, but it has also been the cause of violence in some parts of Kabul and other provinces.

Many women had demonstrated against this law. They said, “The people who support this law don’t actually know what has been written on it. If they did, they would have never supported it.” In addition, they say, “It would be better if you think of yourself as a human, just put being a man or woman away. As a human who can accept this law? It is all prejudice. What kind of law is this!? It doesn’t allow women to have complete rights over their own bodies. How can we name it a law?”

These articles are the most controversial articles in this law: “A woman should not go out of house without her husband’s permission (132nd article). Women have to put on MAKE UP whenever their husband asks them to do so (132nd article). A woman MUST NEVER say “NO” to her husband’s sexual desires (132nd article). One of the women (who doesn’t want her name to be published) said, “We don’t say that we completely oppose this law, but we want ‘CHANGE’. We want some changes in certain articles of this law.” Furthermore, experts say that some articles of this law are opposite of our constitution. In addition, it is said that this law covers ideas which can never be accepted in the 21st century and that these ideas are illogical.

On the other hand, Muhseni, (the owner of TAMADON TV as well as a Shia leader) supports the women who have demonstrated FOR this law and have announced that they do accept it. Muhseni says: “We can’t accept changes in this law. Whatever written in it comes from Islam and we can’t change our religion and its laws.” However, another Shia Mullah, Mohaqeqe Nasab, says that he is ready to argue with Muhseni and prove that the law is actually against Islamic laws and that it DOESN’T support any form Islam.

To decide whether this law is right or wrong, it is better to do some research and read special articles about it. It is not logical to prejudge and pick a side without having enough information about it. If you want to find out whether this law is right or wrong, you should do your own research. Maybe these websites will help:

    Hello every body,

It’s necessary to know about our religion Islam.
I read there’re people who say this is good for shia, i ask what does sunnies say about issues like this?? of course, same thing ufortunately they haven’t read issues lik this unaware that sunnies say so,so those who say it is good for shias then u r not muslims!!
our religion is Islam both for shia and sunni, only we choose dfferent Tariqa!! if u don’t obey issues like this then choose some other religions, except Islam!!!it is for both sunnies and shias!

‘Don’t judge the book from its cover.’
Time will tell us what is right, what is wrong… who is right and who is right, of course.

I bet, if not all, the majority of you guys don’t have even a bit clue about your own religion. I recommend you all to have some studies and do some research about it (Islam), not bias ones! And not the ones you YOURSELF think are right!

It is very important topic. I think that when we find some important topics like this. We should share with others and let others read. Mr Unknown it would be better for you to put the bullet and then fire. Maybe for you it is not important, but in my opinion it is a great topic for everyone to know it is not something she made by herself. She gave the sites. Thanks Maryam nice topic.
